MIC SHOULD TAKE ON ANWAR CHALLENGE TO CALL FOR A FORENSIC AUDIT TO PROBE FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF THE MITRA, MIED, MAIKA, AND PENJANA SCANDALS

MIC president Tan Sri Vikneshwaran should question the former PH Prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir about the performance of his government. Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim was not part of the government as he did not hold any cabinet post except being appointed as chairman of the Parliament Caucus onReform during the period. Nevertheless, PH has allocations for schools and development.

MIC President Tan Sri Vikneshwaran should welcome a forensic audit without fear or favor which was proposed by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to prove MIC is not involved in any graft, abuse of power, misconduct, or abuse as well misuse of public funding pertaining MITRA, MAIKA, MIED, AIMS includes latest allegations made against PENJANA KERJAYA which is led by the Deputy President’s Ministry.

Deputy President Datuk Sri M Saravanan admitted the possibility of several individuals from MIC having involvement in the RM100 million Penjanakerjaya scandals. PENJANA was announced by then PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin under the National Economic Recovery Plan, offering financial incentives.

The Social Security Organisation (Socso) has suspended payments for the Hiring Incentive Programme (PenjanaKerjaya) amounting to RM423 million alleged following misappropriation and false claims involving employers and training providers.

A total of 337 companies, associations, and non-governmental organizations were identified to have been approved for Mitra grants from 2019 to 2021 with approximately RM203 million in allocations.

MACC estimated that almost 60% of the grant allocation received by companies, individuals, and foundations for the purpose of implementing socio-economic programs did not reach the target groups. Several individuals were detained by MACC yet there is further action on this scandal, thus forensic audit is the solution.

If MIC were to come clean of these allegations, they should take the challenge of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim by calling for a forensic audit to take place in a transparent process to prove who is truly championing of the Indian community. WHY DOES MIC FEAR CALLING FOR A FORENSIC AUDIT?
